Nicolas Cage movie’s latest car accident injures nine

Nicolas CageNicolas Cage‘s movie The Sorcerer’s Apprentice is attracting some bad luck. Last week, two people were injured during a car chase scene on the set. Thursday morning, another car accident injured nine people. At about 3:45 am, a car jumped the curb on the Times Square set of the movie, injuring pedestrians. According to a New York Police Department spokesperson, an SUV driver swerved to miss a taxi and slammed into a parked car. That car was in turn slammed into a group of production assistants who were gathered in front of the Winter Garden Theater. Witnesses say the taxi driver sped off without stopping. “A taxi cab cut in front of me,” SUV driver Laura Conti told the New York Daily News while cradling an injured hand. “I tried to avoid an accident and that caused an accident… We ended up hurting other people because of [him] and he kept going. He’s probably home now sleeping.” The injured victims, many of whom were drinking hot coffee when the accident occurred, were all taken to nearby hospitals. Police are investigating but have so far ruled it as an accident. Film publicist Michael Singer laughs off the idea that the film is cursed. “It’s a complete coincidence as far as we’re concerned. The incidents were entirely unrelated.” Nicolas Cage was not on set for either accident… maybe he knows something they don’t? ~Meryl H.

Wow, must be a full moon or something, or maybe the movie is cursed! LOL
I can’t imagine any taxi cab in New York City being able to “speed off”.

You were right, Nancy, I started laughing when I saw the full moon last night!
Anyway, I’ve been to NYC, and the streets there are so jam packed, I just cannot see how a cab could “speed away”, there’s just not enough room. I’m wondering if anyone got a license plate number or anything. Too bad Johnny Depp wasn’t there to save the day! 🙂

Notice that the accident happened at 3:45 am., I am sure that the stretts were not jam packed at the time. Even in New York City.

It is the city that never sleeps, JAG.
