O.J. Simpson

O.J. Simpson was once a beloved football legend. He won the Heisman Trophy in 1968 and the league MVP award in 1973. In 1979, he left football to pursue sports commentating and acting. But he will be remembered most for the two trials — one criminal and one civil — for the 1994 murders of his former wife, Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend, Ron Goldman. Found liable in the latter trial, he was ordered to pay $33 million in damages, but he has not served time for murder. However, he has been in trouble with the law since then. In October 2008, he was convicted of 12 counts of armed robbery and kidnapping. For this, he was sentenced to 33 years. Ironic. Simpson currently resides at the Lovelock Correctional Centre in Nevada.
