Bryan Singer

In April 2014, former child model Michael Egan filed a civil lawsuit against director Bryan Singer (and several other members of the film industry), claiming he was forced to use cocaine and perform sexual favors under duress while a minor. Although Singer denied the claims, Egan and five more alleged victims of Singer’s were offered monetary settlements. Egan's amounted to $100,000, which his lawyer advised him to accept. When Egan refused, his lawyer dropped him as a client and the suit was withdrawn. Egan has not yet decided whether to refile.

In August 2014, the NYPD's  Special Victims Squad opened an investigation into a forcible sexual assault that was allegedly committed March 23, 2013 by Singer against a man in his twenties. As of October 2014, Singer has not yet been charged with a crime.
