‘Queen of Soul’ Aretha Franklin dead at 76

Best known for her hits “Respect,” “Natural Woman” and “I Say a Little Prayer,” Aretha Franklin’s death at age 76 was announced this morning via her publicist.
Franklin had been battling pancreatic cancer, and her condition worsened recently — it was released earlier this week that the singer was “gravely ill” and surrounded by family and friends in her hometown of Detroit.
Over the course of her more than five-decade career, Franklin had over 100 singles appear on the Billboard charts. She also received 18 Grammy awards, in addition to a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Grammys.
On the big screen, she played the role of Mrs. Murphy in the 1980 hit film The Blues Brothers.
She is survived by her four sons: Clarence Franklin, Edward Franklin, Ted White Jr. and Kelcalf Cunningham. ~Gabrielle Austin

I wanna say about miss Franklin she was our iconic queen of Soul and gospel and R&B also pop music she is a very close friend to Miss Whitney Houston and to Jackson family also to and we all know she was loved by millions of fans and she will be remembered by her number 1 Hit Motown Songs like respect and natural women and chain of fools those songs are very iconic songs in the history of African American music we all know name for and we all know she is a national performer and actress and a mosional speaker and she can move all us she is a truth of amazing talents and a give from god and all love her for her powerful singing voice and and she pick all of up to our feet and she a true American celebrity to be remembered and her music generation will be live on forever and the beat will go on and and passion she had she is our queen goodbye miss Franklin we will miss you and you be missed and never be a natural woman

Early teenage years dancing and singing to her songs. Songs were full of beat and emotion. Remembering those who we had love crushes on. I am a baby boomer and love and remember that era in music and especially the QUEEN OF SOUL and what she brought to the music industry , while tugging on the heart strings so many young lovers. She will be sadly missed,as an era of soul and great songs. Truly, Truly, blown away by this sad event!
