With no wide releases debuting in North America last Friday, not much has changed with the same five movies remaining in the top five at the box office in the same positions as last weekend.
Ralph Breaks the Internet was the box office champ for the third weekend in a row, earning an additional $16.1 million for a domestic total of $140.9 million. It’s currently one of the top 20 movies at the 2018 box office, but may make it onto the list of top 10 box office hits for the year by the end of the month if it continues to perform this well.
Dr. Seuss’ The Grinch retained its spot in second place, earning $15.2 million for a five-week domestic total of $223.5 million, which moves it into seventh place in the list of top 10 box office earners for 2018.
Creed II held onto third place, taking in an additional $10.3 million for a three-week domestic total of $96.5 million in second place.
In fourth spot again was Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, which earned an extra $6.8 million for a domestic total of $145.2 million in its fourth weekend.
Rounding out the top five was the audience favorite, Bohemian Rhapsody, starring Rami Malek as Queen’s lead singer Freddie Mercury. It took in an additional $6 million, making its domestic gross $173.6 million in its sixth weekend. ~Alexandra Heilbron
