Real Steel starring Hugh Jackman continued to hold on to the top box office spot in its second weekend out according to estimates, but with Footloose coming in very closely behind, that may change once the total amount of receipts are tallied later today. Real Steel took in $16.3 million (all figures U.S.), while Footloose earned an estimated $16.1 million and 3.3 out of 5 stars from Tribute viewers. Another remake, The Thing, debuted in third place, grossing $8.8 million and earning 3 stars. George Clooney‘s The Ides of March, which he directed, co-wrote and co-starred in opposite Ryan Gosling dropped from second to fourth, earning $7.5 million and a Tribute viewer rating of 4 stars. Rounding out the top five was the popular Dolphin Tale, earning an additional $6.3 million in its fourth weekend at the box office. Based on a true story, it remains a favorite with Tribute viewers, who gave it 4.6 stars out of 5.
