Rihanna has launched a search to help a young Olympic hopeful find an organ donor. Seun Adebiyi, 26, a Nigerian-born skeleton sledder, is fighting leukemia and wrote a letter to the pop star last year, asking for her help. Rihanna and Grey’s Anatomy actor Justin Chambers are teaming up with non-profit bone marrow donor centre DKMS to raise awareness and help Seun’s dream of competing at the 2014 Winter Olympics come true. Rihanna said in a statement: “Leukemia interrupted Seun’s dream of being the first Nigerian in the Winter Olympics, but together we can help him make his dream come true. We need to find him a bone marrow donor.” Seun told Tonic: “I am deeply touched by their plea for donors, not just for me, but for others as well. Their voices are so powerful and it encourages me how they used their influence to raise awareness about this important issue. That was incredible.” ~Alexandra Heilbron

Rihanna’s younger cousin, Tavon Kaiseen Alleyne, was shot to death on the street near his home just one day after they spent Christmas together in Barbados.
wow. excellent work ! i love when people show compassion for others.
so agree with you, mandee…compassion is sorely amiss in so many today that when you see something such as this, it hits home…
good for her the more support the better good to see how the rich and famous can also lend a helping hand with todays problems that effect everybody
Definetly agree with you guys on that one!!:)
I think it’s great that Rihanna is helping this young man. This also goes to show that she definitely gets her fan mail!
Love her ‘Rated R’ cd – cranked in the car.
Pretty much anybody can join the Worldwide Unrelated Bone Marrow Donor list, just contact your local branch of the Red Cross. It’s an awesome thing to do, chances are you’d never get called to donate, but if you ever did, what a great feeling that would be to be able to help someone in that way.
