Robin Williams’ daughter harassed with fake photos of his dead body

Zelda Williams, daughter of Robin Williams, has received a lot of support from social media after her father’s suicide, but has also been under attack by internet trolls. After Zelda posted this tweet on Tuesday, as a response to her father’s death, it’s reported she was sent mocked up photos of her father’s dead body.

In response, Zelda pleaded with her followers to report the two users who sent the Photoshopped images to her Twitter account. She later deleted the tweet and explained that she would be deleting her account. She left the following message on Twitter and on Instagram.
I’m sorry. I should’ve risen above. Deleting this from my devices for a good long time, maybe forever. Time will tell. Goodbye.

She even wrote a blog post, expressing her wish to take time to heal on Tumblr.
“I will be leaving this account for a but while I heal and decide if I’ll be deleting it or not. In this difficult time, please try to be respectful of the accounts of myself, my family and my friends. Mining our accounts for photos of dad, or judging me on the number of them is cruel and unnecessary. There are a couple throughout, but the real private moments I shared with him were precious, quiet, and believe it or not, not full of photos or ‘selfies’. I shared him with a world where everyone was taking their photo with him, but I was lucky enough to spend time with him without cameras too. That was more than enough, and I’m grateful for what little time I had. My favorite photos of family are framed in my house, not posted on social media, and they ‘ll remain there. They would’ve wound up on the news or blogs then, and they certainly would now. That’s not what I want for our memories together. Thank you for your respect and understanding in this difficult time.”
Robin Williams was known for working with charities and before taking a break from Twitter, Zelda also expressed her gratitude to those who showed their admiration for Robin by donating to charity.
Thank you to all those donating to @StJude in memory of my father. I’m overwhelmed. The charity meant the world to him, as it does to me.

A vacation for people in their shoes just might mean no cameras in their face.
Some people have no sense of decency. My sympathies to the Williams family and friends and those a-holes that photoshopped those pics will get their, karma is a fickle bitch…
At a time, in people’s lives that is so devastating, you would think that others, would show the common courtesy and respect, that these moments in time, deserve.
Apparently, some people have not had the proper upbringing, to show the etiquette, that is required.
That is a real pitty!
This young woman (and the William’s family and friends) has gone through this recent tragedy. They have years yet ahead to mourn the death of Robin, getting through his birthday, their birthdays, anniversaries, Christmas, Fathers’ day to name a few occasions without him.Those who create even more agony for them right now are truly in need of help. There are all kinds of people in this world of ours. You must rise above them. It is very difficult especially when people already ‘picture’ the terrible scene in their minds but to be sent photos is down right ‘nasty and hurtful’ beyond what I can comprehend. The world who loved Robin are grieving….I can NOT even imagine what his family, friends and co stars are feeling. Many don’t even think about that and try to hurt even further. Such a shame. May the family be as strong as they can be because they have to face an often cruel world as a result of the death of an amazing man.
The passing of Mr. William’s hit me personally – my daughter Amy Lyn, suffering from depression, took her own life three years ago. And yes, as Kathy above posted, ‘big days’ bring those memories back too frequently. I was particularly touched by Zelda’s quote from The Little Prince – it is exactly the same quote as the one we used for Amy Lyn’s remembrance card.

How heartless can some people be…honestly, it is hard to believe that some are human beings.
Some people are just plain vermin and the internet makes it easy for them to indulge their sick behaviour.
What kind of a sick mind gets off on such disgusting behaviour?
Hopefully karma will get them back tenfold.

Speaking personally I never had the joy of meeting Robin Williams but growing up I loved every movie that came out with him in it.
From myself and my family our deepest condolences go out to the Williams family. Your father may not be with us in person anymore but so long as there are people who love Mr Williams his spirit shall be with us, forever.

When I lost my dad 22 1/2 years ago I thought I wouldn’t be able to go on with my life but all my wonderful memories of our time together and how loving and caring he was to everyone helped me go on. I know how Zelda and her brother’s must feel and I pray they are able to do the same. My dad was a good person too and in the end that’s what matters/counts.
My sympathy goes out for the whole Williams family. I feel sorrow for Mr. Williams, I adored him and his shows, he will be GREATLY MISSED but never forgotten. No one knows what he was feeling nor how he was feeling, but one thing for sure is that he brought alot of joy and laughter to everyone in this world. Those out there that don’t have respect for anyones death , I feel sorrow for you because at the end we all pay for what we do and say. Robbin Williams will always be remember. Praise GOD !!!
