Russell Brand impresses the Dalai Lama

By Tribute on June 18, 2012 | 2 Comments

Funnyman Russell Brand can now add the Dalai Lama to his list of fans, after he introduced the Tibetan Buddhist spiritual leader at the Stand Up and Be the Change initiative in Manchester, UK over the weekend. The Rock of Ages star commented on the unorthodox decision to ask him to introduce the Nobel Peace Prize winner. “Some of you might be surprised to see me here. I’ve gone from being Shagger of the Year three times to introducing the Dalai Lama,” he said. “It has certainly been an interesting journey.” Russell, a supporter of the Tibetan cause, thanked the Dalai Lama as the two-hour event drew to a close, saying, “I have found it very inspiring and helpful. We need to look within ourselves.” Afterwards, he told the media, “The Dalai Lama told me ‘We are all just people’ and I’ve taken that on board as I was very nervous meeting him.” It appears Russell left quite the impression on the Buddhist monk, who told him, “I think your openness transfers wonderfully.” ~ Emily Davies

I love him. Despite all the debris, I love him.

Honestly don’t get the flack this guy gets. I think he’s charming, witty, hilarious and all around just a likable guy. Can someone explain to me why he’s so hated?
