Ryan Gosling saves woman’s life

By Alexandra Heilbron on April 5, 2012 | 25 Comments

Not only is Ryan Gosling currently the hottest actor around, but he seems to be a superhero as well. Last August he broke up a street fight and Tuesday night, he saved a woman’s life when he pulled her out of the path of a speeding taxi in Manhattan. The woman was British freelance writer Laurie Penny who tweeted about the incident immediately afterwards, writing: “I literally, LITERALLY just got saved from a car by Ryan Gosling. Literally. That actually just happened.” She explained: “I was crossing 6th avenue in a new pink wig. Not looking the right way because I am from London. Ryan Gosling grabbed me away from a taxi.” She says as he grabbed her, he yelled, “Hey, watch out!” She also wrote that a girl who saw it happen verified that she’d just been saved by Ryan Gosling, adding, “You lucky bitch.”

lol… That last line made me laugh!

It’s great she was saved, but why the big deal cause he’s a celebrity. Would the story even been tweeted if it was an unknown person? Probably not.

Obviously your not a Ryan Gosling fan Chanda. The whole reason she tweeted was because it WAS Ryan Gosling but I’ll bet because she’s a freelance writer she would have tweeted it…only minus the name of her saviour.

Of course she would have tweeted about it if it hadn’t been a celebrity. People tweet about ridiculously mundane things like, “Just had lunch” (REALLY? TELL US MORE! <— Sarcasm) so being saved from being hit by a car is rather a bigger deal and at least worthy of mention.

Ryan Gosling saved me too. I almost walked off a cliff in the grand canyon (cause I’m stupid) but then I heard him yell, “Hey Don’t do that!”. He was in Manhatten at the time but he definitely saved me.

I wonder if mr. gosling would’ve done anything if the person was a dude

  9. marg • April 5, 2012 @ 10:52 AM

  10. Jules • April 5, 2012 @ 11:08 AM

If Ryan Gosling saved me…….I would jump on him and hump him.

I think the reason it’s a big deal is because a lot of celebrities seem to be completely unaware of their surroundings and so far out of the real world. It’s not often you find one that’s so grounded, down to earth, and personable – someone who genuinely cars about the well being of others without expecting something back in return. It’s a rarity even if you aren’t a celebrity. I would have tweeted about it regardless.

    …should be *cares not cars

Of course Mr. Gosling would have done something if the person was a dude, Bob…after all, in August, he broke up a street fight between 2 men!

I met Ryan and he’s a sweet guy. He does not act like a celebrity at all. Totally down to earth person. But he does have a sexy voice.

Nice story. Yet another great Canadian actor doing good 🙂

I was lucky enough to meet Ryan 4 years ago in Cancun airport. He was the most gracious guy taking pictures with fans. His mother should be proud she raised a great guy.
