Sean Penn and Robin Wright Penn call it quits again

Robin Wright Penn and Sean PennIs it for real this time? Sean Penn, 48, filed for legal separation from his wife, Robin Wright Penn, 43, last week after 13 years of marriage, citing “irreconcilable differences.” Penn is seeking joint custody of the couple’s children, Dylan, 18, and Hopper, 15. He is also requesting that both parties pay for their own attorneys and does not want the court to award his wife any spousal support. Penn and Wright Penn are no strangers to marital trouble–according to FOXnews.com, Penn filed for divorce in 2007, but later requested the petition be dismissed. Wright Penn filed for divorce just three days later, but four months later the petition was again dismissed. The couple seemed to be attempting to reconcile their differences, appearing together at the Oscars where Penn won the Best Actor award for his performance in Milk. However, Penn sparked rumors when he neglected to thank his wife in his acceptance speech. After the Oscar ceremony, Penn explained the exclusion to Access Hollywood, saying “she knows.” Wright Penn agreed, saying she knew there wouldn’t be enough time. “Marriage ain’t easy, but it’s great most of the time,” Penn told Entertainment Weekly in 1997 after just having married Wright Penn. “I love Robin. I’ve always loved her.” ~Meryl H.

wow, I think I would be a little bit pissed he didn’t thank me if I were his wife.

What the frack does his politics have to do with his love life? Also, as a beneficiary of universal healthcare, you should not even be bitching about socialism anyway.

I know I’m going back a lot of years, but wasn’t he abusive when he married Madonna. Yeah, good actor, but not sure how good of a husband he’d be. And Joint custody of an 18 year old. Isn’t that old for custody, or is that for Child Maitenance issues?

Hmm, not sure, Carol, I’d guess it is for maintenance. Weren’t he & Madonna abusive to each other? Seems to me it was quite an explosive relationship.

Coming out of a marriage to Madonna, you’re never quite the same lol.

I believe anyone coming out of a marriage is never “quite the same”…

and as for what really happens in this or any marriage, not just the miniscule bits and pieces that surface for various reasons, only those two know what truly transpired in their relationship and the decision to dissolve it can only be theirs…

    the rest is pure speculation…
