Selena Gomez takes on Instagram bully

Aftershock star Selena Gomez fought back against a bully this Saturday. Among other offensive remarks, the female bully posted “Burn in hell with cancer” on Selena’s Instagram photos. Selena, 21, sent a polite but clear message the woman’s comment was not appropriate, showing restraint and even support for the female ‘fan’. “The comment you left about cancer was absurd. How distasteful of a young woman. I have gone through that battle with fans and family members. You can dislike someone but to wish something that could happen to you or your family is uncalled for sweetheart. You won’t be winning ‘anyone’s’ heart that way. Trust me. Educate yourself a tad more. God bless love. Be an amazing woman. You’re beautiful.”
The caption Selena left beside the response further emphasized Selena’s reaction to the hateful comment(s), “Honestly, I don’t speak up much because it’s simply *always* taken out of context. But I don’t take bullying well. I have seen too much to not say anything.” As someone in the public eye, Selena handled the hateful comment with grace and class. ~Andrea Hodgins
