Shazam! Fury of the Gods dominates weekend box office

Zachary Levi in Shazam! Fury of the GodsThe biggest debut this past Friday was Shazam! Fury of the Gods, which knocked Scream VI to second place. Have a look at which films landed in the top five.

Shazam! Fury of the Gods starring Zachary Levi and Asher Angel debuted in the top spot at the weekend box office, with earnings that totaled $30.5 million.

Scream VI dropped a spot to second, taking in an additional $17.5 million for a two-week total of $76 million.

Creed III, directed by and starring Michael B. Jordan, also dropped a spot. Winding up in third this weekend, it earned an extra $15.4 million for a three-week total of $127.7 million.

The space thriller 65 starring Adam Driver as a stranded astronaut dropped one spot to fourth place, taking in an additional $5.8 million for a two-week total of $22.4 million.

Rounding out the top five in its fifth weekend in theaters was Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania starring Paul Rudd. The Marvel movie topped the $200 million mark this weekend, taking in an additional $4 million for a total take of $206 million.
