Sheryl Crow granted restraining order

Sheryl Crow has secured a three-year restraining order against 45-year-old James Philip Sparks. According to her original court filing for a temporary order of protection, the man ranted about her on a social networking website and threatened to shoot her.

Sheryl had stated in court documents that her manager informed her of the perceived threat. James, according to the singer’s filing, had written on Facebook and online message boards that the Grammy Award winner had broken into his place to surreptitiously film him and then somehow cheated him out of money for a reality show he was supposed to be on. Sheryl’s manager then informed her that, in mid-July, he went to the SAG-AFTRA headquarters in Los Angeles and told an employee that he was going to “just shoot” her.

The legal document reads: “This statement was obviously extremely alarming to me. [It was] clear to me that he was deeply disturbed because his posts were delusional, rambling, filled with profanity and laced with angry rants.”

At the hearing on Tuesday (14.08.12) a psychiatrist testifying on her behalf called the suspect “dangerous.”

He is now required to stay away from and not attempt to contact the singer, her family, her manager and other employees for the next three years.

Strange people. I hope he gets help. Maybe Scientology will help cause pills aren’t the answer. Right Mr. Cruise?

If the suspect is “dangerous” what’s a restraining order going to accomplish. Didn’t Nicole Brown have a restraining order against O.J.?
