Bond 23, Skyfall, took the cake at the box office for its North American debut weekend, making a notable $87 million. Directed by Academy Award-winning filmmaker Sam Mendes, Skyfall stars Daniel Craig as the suave M16 agent and sees Bond putting down his Martini to fight for M–acted by Judi Dench–one of the most important women in his life. The movie earned 4.4 stars out of 5 from Tribute.ca users. Although falling to second place, animated comedy Wreck-It Ralph is far from being demolished with 4.5 stars from Tribute.ca users and a neat $33 million on only its second week in theaters. Cast Away director Robert Zemecki’s drama Flight comes in third, getting 4 stars and raking in a bashful $15 million. Also in its second week at theaters, Flight stars Denzel Washington as an alcoholic airplane captain whose addiction may place him at fault for a horrible plane crash. Ben Affleck’s 1970s Iranian hostage movie Argo comes in fourth place with $6.7 million on its fifth weekend in theaters. This political thriller has garnered an impressive $85.71 million so far and earned 4.1 stars from Tribute fans. Rounding out the top five is director Oliver Megaton’s sequel Taken 2, which brings back Liam Neeson as an ex-CIA agent who will stop at nothing to find and save his kidnapped daughter. Although only pulling in $4 million and 3.8 stars, Taken 2 has an impressive total gross of $131 million so far. ~Brandon Bastaldo

Find out what’s streaming this week as well as what’s new on DVD and Blu-ray, including The Tender Bar directed by George Clooney and starring Ben Affleck.
I’ve seen Argo, then Wreck it and now Skyfall. I have to say, I am impressed with the films out lately.
Argo was excellent, even knowing the outcome in advance,it was still gripping. Skyfall is fantastic all around, one of the best Bond flicks ever,if not at the top.
