Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas announce engagement

Sansa Stark is getting married. It’s no spoiler — Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner has announced her engagement to pop star Joe Jonas.

The couple announced the news through coordinated Instagram posts Sunday afternoon. The simple image showed both of their hands, with Sophie wearing a beautiful pear-shaped diamond ring.

Rumors that the two were dating began last November when they were spotted holding hands during the MTV EMAs, and while they have chosen to keep things mostly private, it was known that in December 2016 Joe met Sophie’s parents in the UK, while Sophie met the Jonas family on a stateside ski trip.

Neither of them have spoken much on their relationship publicly, but when asked during an interview with Marie Claire in July, Sophie said, “I am very happy.”

While no details have been confirmed, with production for Game of Thrones’ final season beginning next month it’s unlikely the stars will have time to plan a wedding just yet. ~Hayley Michaud
