Spider-man looking for red-headed actress

The producers of the upcoming The Amazing Spider-Man are searching for a red-headed actress. Although it sounds like they may be looking for someone to play Mary Jane Watson, Spider-man’s usual love interest, the casting call describes it as a background role, saying: “Actress to portray beautiful red-headed teenage girl for featured background… (18+ only).” It was earlier reported that Mary Jane wasn’t in the original screenplay. Emma Stone, who made a splash as a redhead in Easy A, would have been perfect, but instead has returned to her natural blonde in the role of Gwen Stacy. What role do you think they’re casting? Could Mary Jane be reduced to a small role in this version? Or might this be an entirely new character? If Mary Jane is in the script, who would you like to see play her? We’re thinking 20-year-old Rachel Hurd-Wood would be great in the movie because not only is she a very pretty redhead (see above photo), she’s a terrific actress. Or how about gorgeous Ashley Greene from the Twilight Saga? Below are some of the actresses we’ve come up with, along with their most recent movies (in case you’re not sure who they are). If your favorite isn’t listed, please let us know who would be your choice in the comments section. NONE OF THE ABOVE – It should be Emilie De Ravin if she can pull off both the Redhead look and the accent.

Are they looking for acting talent, or just someone with red hair as the title implies? Have they ever heard of hair dye? Pick someone on the basis of their acting ability and colour the hair if it’s not red.

God I’m sick of comic book movies. But fanboys must work for Tribute, cause we have to hear about them all the time.

Karen Gillan. She is million times of awesome.

I am tired of Hollywood thinking a simple dye job looks good on anyone. Kirsten Dunst, case in point, looked AWFUL!
