Stephen Collins latest role was a pedophile priest

Stephen Collins, best known for his role as Reverend Eric Camden in 7th Heaven, and who has been in the news lately regarding child molestation allegations, plays a chillingly similar role to both his past professional and personal lives in the new short film Penance, which has won awards at several film festivals. Collins coincidentally plays a pedophile priest in the 11-minute film written and directed by Jeff Wolfe.
Director and screenwriter Wolfe recently addressed the news of Collins’ role in the film, explaining in a statement to ABC News, “When I cast Stephen Collins, I had no idea there might be a connection between his real life and the part I asked him to play. I found the recent allegations particularly shocking, as my film is meant to speak to victims of abuse and the idea that the effects of abuse never really go away.” ~Janine Wyslobicky

Guess it wasn’t too hard for him to act this part. IF the allegations are true, hope he never gets another acting part for the rest of his life. People who abuse children like this should be killed, no mercy.
Sadly, this sounds sickly of a bad marketing idea to drum up interest. Evil. These types of things always crop around when an actor/actress have a surpisingly similar movie coming up. I hope I am wrong but i have seen it before.

What a brilliant plan, i’m sure this divorce was elaborately staged just so this evidence could be revealed right before the short film will be released. Have you ever seen a short film play in movie theatres or be sold on DVD? They don’t make money. There is no marketing strategy for an 11 minute film you idiot. Your comment was completely tasteless.
