Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows new trailer introduces purple ooze

The first official trailer for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows promises plenty of explosions and action, including the turtles jumping out of a plane and struggling with white water rapids.

It starts with a Halloween parade. Michelangelo (Noel Fisher) is part of the crowd, enthusiastically saying it’s the one night of the year they fit in. However, his brother Raphael (Alan Ritchson) disagrees and pulls him back down into the sewer, growling, “What part of ‘move in the shadows’ don’t you understand?”

There’s something hovering over New York City and it’s bad — chunks of concrete begin to fall out of the sky. When April (Megan Fox) is surrounded by bad guys one night, a guy wearing a goalie mask and carrying a hockey stick make short work of them. He introduces himself to April and takes off his mask – he’s the ever-so-handsome Casey Jones (Stephen Amell). And don’t worry, turtle fans, Vernon Fenwick (Will Arnett) is also along for the ride.

It turns out there’s a mysterious purple ooze that can turn humans into animals, and the turtles wonder if it would be able to turn them into humans so they wouldn’t have to hide any longer, but they’re not all in agreement as to whether that would be a good idea. They gear up and continue their heroic ways as turtles, leaping from buildings and taking down bad guys.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows hits theaters on June 3, 2016.
