The Grey starring Liam Neeson emerged as the top movie at the weekend box office, taking in an estimated $20 million (all figures U.S.) and earning 3.7 out of 5 stars at Tribute.ca. Last weekend’s top earner, Underworld Awakening — the fourth movie in the vampire series — moved to the No. 2 slot, earning an additional $12.5 million. Debuting in third place was the new comedy One for the Money, starring Katherine Heigl. It took in $11.8 million and received a high rating of 4.4 stars at Tribute.ca. Red Tails starring Cuba Gooding Jr., dropped two spots to fourth (Click here to see a photo gallery from Tribute’s Red Tails afterparty with Cuba), while the much publicized thriller Man on a Ledge debuted in fifth place with a disappointing $8.3 million, although Tribute users who saw it gave it a high rating of 4 stars.

Man on a Ledge was marketed poorly. It’s like the movie Phonebooth, where the ads really make it seems like the man in trapped and really nothing else is going on except the ledge or the booth. That’s why it’s not doing well. Lot of talkie talkie and didn’t see much action in the previews. At least not until the recent previews and I think they were put out too late for us to see.
I totally thought it was a guy threatening to jump and a woman trying to talk him down, but everyone soon realizes he is innocent. BORING.
