Mark Wahlberg film joins Oscar race

The sooner, the better. Especially for Peter Berg’s film Lone Survivor, starring Mark Wahlberg. Universal has moved the release date up by two weeks, allowing it to qualify for the 2014 Oscars. Based on a true story, Lone Survivor revolves around “Operation Red Ring,” the ill-fated 2005 mission in which Navy SEAL members were tasked with assassinating a high-level Taliban member close to Osama Bin Laden. The war drama will hit theaters on December 27, 2013. Besides Mark Wahlberg, Lone Survivor has several high-ranked actors playing roles in it, including Eric Bana, Taylor Kitsch, Ben Foster and Emile Hirsch. Universal head Adam Fogelson promises the film will live up to expectations, telling an audience at CinemaCon that it’s “soulful, gritty, tough, emotional and quite frankly, remarkable.” ~Naomi Leanage

It’s about time he won an Oscar.

I’d watch it. But now I see a theme happening. From Black Hawk Down to The Hurt Locker to last years Zero Dark 30..seems Americans like the war movies in Iraq/Afgan but should another one try to get into the Oscar race? Will the theme fade? I’d watch it tho.

LOL the movie hasn’t even been seen/released yet and people think it will win an Oscar.

He can’t shake that Boston accent… so unless it’s set IN Boston, he’s out of place anywhere he goes.

I will only watch it if directed by Oliver Stone and Roger Moore lol

NOT another bin Laden movie!! I don’t usually listen to actors and actresses say how Good their movie is. But I did once a few months ago. It sounded good and interesting. It wasn’t either! But I will go to this movie. If it doesn’t turn out to be good, I don’t go to Mr. Fogelson’s movies ever again!
