For the second weekend in a row, Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax beat out the competition at the box office to earn the No. 1 spot. The 3D animated family film, which features the voices of Danny DeVito, Zac Efron and Taylor Swift, took in an additional $39.1 million and scored high with Tribute.ca users who rated it 4 out of 5 stars. Coming in a disappointing second was the big-budget film John Carter, which was expected to take over the No. 1 spot. It earned $30.6 million, although it won a high Tribute.ca rating of 4.6 stars. Project X, about high school misfits who throw an out-of-control party, dropped one spot to third, taking in an extra $11.6 million and getting a 2.5 star rating from Tribute users. The new thriller Silent House tied for fourth place, earning $7 million and 3 stars. Also scoring $7 million was Act of Valor, which earned 4.5 stars at Tribute.ca.
