The Other Woman tops weekend box office

It was clearly a weekend for the ladies at the movie theaters this past weekend. Cameron Diaz‘s new comedy The Other Woman kicked Captain America: The Winter Soldier out of the top spot, earning an estimated $24.7 million. The comedy was certainly a hit with our readers, averaging a 4 star Tribute rating. Captain America: The Winter Soldier fell to number two, taking in $16 million after enjoying three weekends at number one. It also has a Tribute rating of 4 stars, as does Heaven is for Real, which dropped one spot to third place, earning an additional $13.8 million. Despite having almost 5 stars at Tribute, Rio 2 fell to fourth place, adding an extra $13.7 million to its already impressive total of $96.2 million; it is expected to hit the $100 million total mark by Friday. New release Brick Mansions rounded out the top five with an opening of just $9.6 million and a 3.5 star rating from Tribute readers.
