poster_md2Gavin Michael Booth makes his feature directorial debut in the Canadian horror film The Scarehouse, which has been selected as the “Best Feature Film” at this year’s New York City Horror Film Festival. The film joins the ranks of previous winners The Dark Hours, Fingerprints, Botched and YellowBrickRoad. The film follows two friends who throw a party for their former sorority sisters at a Halloween-themed fun house they created. However, as the sisters each arrive they are confronted by their pasts and the fun night quickly takes a turn for the worse as the two hosts enact out their violent and twisted revenge. Filmed in Windsor, The Scarehouse stars Sarah Booth, Kimberley-Sue Murray, Katherine Barrell, Teagan Vincze, Ivana Sotjanovic, Jennifer Miller, Dani Barker and Emily Alatalo.

Be sure to catch The Scarehouse when it screens for a special two night engagement on December 1 and 2 at Toronto’s Royal Cinema. It then releases January 13, 2015 on DVD/BR/VOD/EST in Canada. ~Janine Wyslobicky
