MinionsThis week’s top trailers have a dash of animation and superhero charm. Minions, which scooped the number one spot at the box office this week, is also the number one trailer. The science fiction thriller Self/less starring Ryan Reynolds held the number two spot. Following that, the two anticipated superhero action films that we are all waiting to watch, Suicide Squad and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, secured the third and fourth spot respectively. Finally, Pixar’s beloved Inside Out rounded out the top five.

1) Minions
2) Self/less
3) Suicide Squad
4) Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice
5) Inside Out

1) Minions trailer: Through the ages, the Minions, including Kevin, Stuart and Bob, have served many masters, accidentally killing many of them. When they find themselves without anyone to serve, they get depressed and embark on a quest to find a new evil boss for their brethren to follow. They meet Scarlet Overkill (voice of Sandra Bullock), a stylish villain who lets them live in her place and tasks them with getting the Queen’s crown.

2) Self/less trailer:  A terminally ill elderly billionaire (Ben Kingsley) dying from cancer buys a chance for eternal life through an experimental underground medical procedure called “shedding,” which transfers his consciousness into the cadaver of a younger man (Ryan Reynolds). However, the promise of immortality turns into a nightmare when he experiences flashbacks that reveal the disturbing origins of his new body and he discovers a secret organization that will kill to keep their cause quiet.

3) Suicide Squad trailer: A group of super villains are forced to work together in exchange for reduced prison sentences.

4) Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice trailer: When some begin to fear Superman (Henry Cavill) because of his great power, Gotham City’s vigilante, Batman (Ben Affleck), decides to take on Metropolis’s superhero. However, the infighting leaves the word exposed to a new threat that puts mankind in greater danger than anyone could have possibly imagined.

5) Inside Out Trailer:  This animated film takes place in the mind of Riley (Kaitlyn Dias), a young girl who experiences emotional turmoil as her life in the Midwest is uprooted when her father moves them to San Francisco. Her emotions, Joy (Amy Poehler), Anger (Lewis Black), Fear (Bill Hader), Disgust (Mindy Kaling) and Sadness (Phyllis Smith) are locked in conflict in the Headquarters, the control center of Riley’s brain, over how to deal with it.
