Willow Smith regrets being famous

By Tribute on May 17, 2012 | 22 Comments

As the daughter of one of Hollywood’s most famous couples — Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith — budding pop star/actress Willow Smith has admitted she struggles with the intense pressure of the public eye. “If I could change one thing about my life, it would probably be I wouldn’t be famous,” said the 11-year-old in the new series Red Table Talk. Like most celebrities and more so the younger generation, it’s hard to get around without being bombarded with fans. “Let’s say if a regular girl is going to the book store, it’s ten times harder to go everywhere [when you’re famous]… it’s going to take me ten more minutes to get there because I have to call security.” Although fame can sometimes be a pain, Smith agrees it can also be a blessing. “It’s not like I can’t reverse being famous, but if there’s a problem in the world, then more people will listen to me,” said Smith. The interview included a surprisingly real and powerful conversation between actress Jada Pinkett-Smithand her mother, Adrienne Banfield-Jones, about their relationship. ~Graeme Mollison

It might not be too late. She can stop doing her unmelodic dance tunes that require little singing but a lot of production and auto tuning and get out of the public eye and then she won’t have to wait the extra 10 minutes to go to a book store. And if that’s all she has to complain about, she might want to look over at kids in third world countries who don’t get enough to eat, whom she could give a few million to and do a lot of good in the world instead of whinging about her lot in life. Raise spoiled kids much, Will?

Have some compassion, if you expect an 11 year little girl to not complain about anything in her life because of starving children in Africa, then you best not ever complain about anything in your life, because the same goes for you. There is always someone worse off than us, but that does not mean that if someone isn’t happy about something they have no right to complain. I just don’t understand that point of view, “well there are starving children in Africa, so you shut up about your complaining.” Plus this is a question that was asked of her, she did not come right out and say it on her own, she gave her perfect world scenario, but still acknowledged how much good she could do with her situation. Ugh people need more compassion and understanding in this world, just because someone is famous doesn’t remove the fact that they are human too with feelings and all that.

Actors “Famous people” are just the same as me or you. Thier not Gods so why do we put them on such a high pedestal? It’s because the rolls they’ve played in there films or the music they make the sports they play or the kids of parents where they came from. We need to have respect for them and understand that they are working just like you and I and we should respect thier profession. Furthure more there should be a law passed publicly that going up to a “Famous” person can get you fined for privacy and mauling an individual. It should be noted that when an officer see’s a bombardment of people surrounding an individual that that officer should take action and proceed to break up the crowd and by the individual’s reaction (famous person) the officer can issue fines or break it up. The fines are not linked or caused by the famous person they are done by how distraught the officer feels the famous person was and it can be waved or dismissed by the individual (famous person). So if ever someone goes up to a celeb to ask a question or they are having a polite conversation fines will not be issued. Also the famous person can’t be power tripping saying “Hey you officer fine this guy he’s bothering me” the famous person needs to be in a state of panic or distraught. Finally the law should fine all who take pictures. Everyone and anyone attempting to take pictures of celebs will be fined. No more paparazzi’s etc. That being said celebs should now agree to do a promotions for thier new project they should do a “Meet and greet” signing etc to allow a time when anyone can take pictures and get a autograph. All done by secure means. It’s not fair that a famous person can’t walk in the park with thier kids and maybe a dog and enjoy LIFE all because he/she hit a home run or played Thor in the last movie he did. Unfair. Kids at school should be treated the same way and watched closely by the teachers and princables. This law should be in effect and I’m very surprised that “Famous” people didn’t all ban together to pass something like this. It could be good for anyone getting bombarded on the streets. 🙂

Everyone handles the pressure of being well known differently. Some people just aren’t equipped to handle it.

These celebs who don’t like being famous shouldn’t be demanding all the perks then.

I like her more only cause she proves that being famous isn’t all what it seems

  7. Lenny • May 17, 2012 @ 12:58 PM

    You’re 11………SHUT UP!

  8. annie • May 17, 2012 @ 1:26 PM

that was such a display of LOOK AT ME LOOK AT ME
if this was such a heart felt talk between mothers and daughters why do they think anyone should hear this isn’t this a private family moment ?????

She’s 11 years old. At the end of the day she’s 11 years old. Give her a break. We’ve all said and thought silly things as a maturing child. I can’t even imagine what I would’ve sounded like if my thoughts were printed when I was 11.
She’s got the potential to grow into a lovely lady who can make a difference.

I’m with Bob…what he said is right and as for the rest of you …well at least some of you’s…you’re just plain weird 🙂 🙂

This video is so boring. The kid never shuts up, she just keeps repeating the same boring thing. I’m sure it’s fascinating to her mother and grandmother, but it should have been kept private because no one else cares what this kid is blabbing about.

  12. Tharsos • May 17, 2012 @ 2:50 PM

SHE! is not famous, her parents are, I cant think of one film she’s been in, in fact the only thing I can think of when I think of her is that half assed song she had last summer that lasted all of 5 minutes on the charts.

This is a way of getting attention in order to be “more famous” It’s been attempted by every major celeb who loses recognition. except that in this case, she’s had virtually no recognition.

If she wants out, then she should tell her parents, go to school and distance herself from the industry as much as possible.

  13. Patrizia • May 17, 2012 @ 3:14 PM

    Good for you Bob.

And Suneagle – you need to work a bit on your spelling. “There”, “they’re”, and “their” are not interchangeable.

  14. na • May 17, 2012 @ 3:39 PM

If she doesn’t want all the attention, maybe she should skip the pink hair. If it weren’t for that, and maybe going out with her famous PARENTS, I’m sure hardly anyone would recognize her. You don’t want to be famous? Complain to your parents, and stop publicizing yourself.

  15. Suneagle • May 17, 2012 @ 5:32 PM

Hahahaha thx patrizia I’m “Famous” for it hahaha!! My grammar sucks even more *Wink*. I still wished they would pass a law of some sort seriuosly :). Only time will tell. And yes guys she’s only 11yrs old.

  16. Suneagle • May 17, 2012 @ 5:39 PM

Ahhhhh wait!! “There” , “Their” & Ther’re” is grammar I mean my spelling hahahah ok go ahead Patrizia I know you want to say something now hahahah oh man English idk why it’s so confusing Italian is so much easier!!! Hahaha! I could never be famous I mean me I would be romancing the wife and then look out the window to catch a paparazzi in the tree like I would just get the 12 gauge and fix the problem! You know whatta mean?

the insensitive pricks of the world speak out, and the stupidity spews out of their mouth and i am not talking about the kid but the stupid ass comments that followed. grow up and get over being such dumb asses.

  18. Debbie M • May 17, 2012 @ 11:14 PM

  20. Germain • May 17, 2012 @ 11:35 PM

I wouldn’t know her if I saw her on the streets.

  21. NastyNellie • May 18, 2012 @ 12:50 AM

Why does she think she’s famous? Never heard of her. But now that I see her picture, to me, she already looks like a ho with attitude at age 11. I shudder to think of her in 5 years.

  22. chrysa • May 18, 2012 @ 2:11 AM

I wonder who has kids from all these guys talking about this video!!! this kid just wants to be her parents priority and this is so normal for every kid !! we think that kids are spoilt these days but our lives are so hurried that we have no time to see our kids real needs, we lose our connection with them because of that….this society creates hungry people…and all of you who judged her make a perfect example of how much love and compassion is missing from the society these days !!!
