Wonder Woman 1984 conquers weekend box office for third time

Taking the top spot for the third weekend in a row was Wonder Woman 1984 starring Gal Gadot and Chris Pine, which took in an additional $3 million for a domestic total of $32.6 million.

The animated comedy The Croods: A New Age, starring the voices of Nicolas Cage and Emma Stone, remained in the second spot, earning $1.8 million for a seven-week total of $36.9 million.

News of the World starring Tom Hanks as a Civil War veteran also retained its position from last weekend, earning an additional $1.2 million in third place for a three-week total gross of $7.1 million.

Holding steady in fourth spot was the sci-fi action flick Monster Hunter starring Milla Jovovich, earning an additional $1.1 million for a three-week total of $7.8 million.

Rounding out the top five was the Hilary Swank thriller Fatale, taking in another $670,000 for a four-week domestic total of $4 million.
