Indiana Jones returning to big screen in 2019

Harrison Ford is returning to the Indiana Jones franchise for yet another installment in a yet-untitled movie that will hit theaters on July 19, 2019.

This will be the fifth adventure in the blockbuster series. Steven Spielberg, who directed each of the four previous films, is back on board to helm the new project.

“Indiana Jones is one of the greatest heroes in cinematic history, and we can’t wait to bring him back to the screen in 2019,” said Alan Horn, Chairman of The Walt Disney Studios. “It’s rare to have such a perfect combination of director, producers, actor and role, and we couldn’t be more excited to embark on this adventure with Harrison and Steven.”

The first Indiana Jones film — Raiders of the Lost Ark was released in 1981 and it’s on the list of the American Film Institute’s 100 Greatest American Films of All Time. Indiana then appeared in 1984’s Indiana Jones and the Temple Of Doom, 1989’s Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, and 2008’s Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.
