Jackson children pick up award for Michael

Paris and Prince Jackson showed up on stage at the Grammys last night to pick up a Lifetime Achievement Award for their late father, Michael Jackson. Despite having been kept out of the public eye for most of their lives, they were composed and calm while speaking to the audience, though both became overcome with emotion. Prince said, “We are proud to accept this award on behalf of our father. We’d like to thank God for watching over us for these past seven months and our grandma and grandpa for their love and support. We would also like to thank the fans; our father loved you so much because you were always there for him. Through all his songs his message was simple, love. We will continue to spread his message and help the world. Thank you. We love you, Dad.” Paris added that her father was supposed to perform this year, because he was unable to the year before. This followed the never-before-seen 3D film made  for Michael’s London concert series. While the film was shown, Jennifer Hudson, Smokey Robinson, Celine Dion, Usher and Carrie Underwood added to the vocals. Other performances included Pink, who was suspended high above the air while singing “Glitter in the Air,” held up by only a ribbon. She explained later that she was a gymnast for eight years. At one point, she was lowered beneath the stage floor and came up drenched in water, then spun, sending droplets flying over the audience. Winners of the night included Taylor Swift, who won four awards and Beyoncé, who took home a record-breaking six trophies (the most Grammys won by a single female performer in one year). Winning three awards each were the Black Eyed Peas, Kings of Leon and the strangely morose Jay-Z. ~Alexandra Heilbron

Holy, the pics from the funeral they looked so much younger. I understand they are very well spoken and it sounds like they are very compassionate young people.

I am honestly proud of them both, I hae never seen someone that strong after the death of their father and it was only 7 months ago.

I agree with you both, they seem very well grounded and very mature and caring for their ages.

I watched the Grammy’s and these two children were very well mannnered.

Yes….I brought out my super special Hannah Montana 3D glasses to watch the clip, hahaha. I liked the hummingbird.

I heard it was blurry for everyone unless you had the glasses. I didn’t watch it, but on the View yesterday they made fun of that, the fact that not everyone has 3D glasses at home and how blurry it was.

I do not understand why MJ was honored for this when he was notorious for lipsynching and stealing other musicians music.
