Jake GyllenhaalJake Gyllenhaal ”dreams” of having children.

The Southpaw actor – who has recently been romantically linked with actresses Rachel McAdams and Ruth Wilson – hopes he will be ”lucky” enough to be a father one day.

He said: ”I am not a father yet, but it is definitely a dream of mine, should I be lucky to have that to happen.”

The 34-year-old actor admits the bond he forged with Oona Laurence, who plays his daughter in Southpaw, further strengthened his desire to have children of his own.

He told Entertainment Tonight: ”I have nieces who I love deeply and I have children in my life I love deeply, but when I meet Oona for the first time, I just fell for her. Your heart opens up to her.”

And despite his years of experience, the Oscar-winning actor claims his young co-star ”guided” him a lot while developing his character and shooting the movie.

He added: ”When I started acting with her too, she was the one who was guiding me. We improved a lot, and she would make choices, I would just follow her in an improv, and that’s the dynamic.”

Try getting married first. I know it’s a novel thought, but it’s better for children. And then stay married.
