James Cameron wants Avatar trilogy

According to James Cameron, Avatar is the first film of a trilogy. Although the hit film was released just over a week ago, Cameron says he has two more films planned for the franchise. Although he hasn’t started working on the second instalment, he wants to make it much faster than the four years Avatar took. “My next goal is to refine the technique, make it easier so it doesn’t take as long. We were doing a lot of pioneering work on ‘Avatar.’ It wouldn’t have taken as long if we already knew exactly how to do it,” explains Cameron. Avatar used revolutionary technology, but to create the characters, it took ten months to perfect their appearance after capturing images with Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldana, two of the film’s stars. The studio will have to give the project the green light first, but that doesn’t seem to be a problem, considering the movie’s outstanding box office success. ~Patricia Gougeon

Badbaz…. if it took 300 million dollars or not its gunna make its money back within a few weeks…. plus it might not even need 300 million dollars for the next film.

Avatar needed to make $400 million to break even…it has made almost $700 million so far. Sounds very profitable in my opinion and is an awesome movie. I say go for it!

thats awesome avatar was a great movie, though it was very predictable and the trailer gave away the whole story in 2 and half minutes, i was dissapointed that they give too much away in the trailers now.

It should be a stand alone movie, why add more when it told what it needed and ending on comforting level.

As long as he does something sensible with it and doesn’t just repeat the same damned story. There is more to be told, after all, if the earth is dying, and this mineral IS so valuable, it’s not like they would pack up and go home that easily.

Remember Little Big Horn? Bad loss, next time they would be even more dangerous.

Good movie. Gotta love the mineral tag – Unobtanium lol
Can’t fathom the sequels topping it. They’ll be riding on the success of the first.
