Janet Jackson’s feud with Beyonce explodes

By Alexandra Heilbron on December 30, 2008 | 17 Comments

Janet JacksonJanet Jackson is said to be furious with Beyoncé Knowles for her comments during a recent interview, reports The National Enquirer. When describing her childhood upbringing, Beyoncé bragged to a reporter: “I grew up upper class. Private school. My dad had a Jaguar. We’re African-American and we work together as a family, so people assume we’re like The Jacksons. But I didn’t have parents using me to get out of a bad situation.” Jackson reportedly took Beyoncé’s comments as a jab at her music business family and her humble beginnings. An “insider” told the NE that “Janet [is] telling everyone who will listen that Beyoncé has a lot of growing up to do.” What better way to ring in the new year than with a Diva vs. Diva feud?

If Beonce said that, then Janet has every right to be offended. Bee strike me as self indulgent and immature and her alleged comment reveals a shallow and immature side to her which would not be surprising to me. Personally her singing is mediocre..just like Britney, and Janet….these are all average singers with good promotion. Now Whitney, Mariah, Mary J….these are singers….the others are mindless entertainers…

WHO THE HECK CARES!!!!!NEITHER OF THEM ARE GOOD SINGERS IN MY OPINION.THE ONLY WAY I THINK WE CAN FIX THIS IS BY THEM HAVING A CELEBRITY CAGE FIGHTING MATCH.NOW THAT WOULD BE ENTERTAINING AND FUNNY…just a thought…

I think celebrities should keep their opinion about other families to themselves no one wants to hear it… i mean she’s basically saying that her and her family are better than other family’s in the industry…thats pretty rude…if you dont have anything nice to say dont say anything at all aka shut up

I used to really like Beyonce; however, she is becoming a real bitch. She is so self centered. She is really turning her fans off. Also, maybe she should go to school because she sounds stupid as hell when she talks. SHe sounds – for lack of a better word – quite ghetto. Many people don’t notice this because they are too busy looking at her and not listening to how ignorant she sounds. Gotta give it to her she is gorgeous. Pretty is as pretty does.

And the “African-American” factor is brought into play again. BOTH families have done extremely well for themselves, why does the race have to be brought into it? The Hiltons and others don’t comment about being successful “European-American” families. It just drives me nuts when I see race being needlessly brought into things.
Anyway, if Beyonce did say those things, they are very derrogatory and she should apologize to the Jackson family.

Yes, I agree and as soon as a black guy runs for President…the majority of blacks jump right on his bandwagon! He could be telling the country he wants to wipe out the world and all Beyonce, Jay-Z, Halle Berry, Will Smith, Jada Pinkett Smith, etc. think about is the colour of his skin and that he will be ‘The First African American President’!!!

Yeah, and the thing is, he’s only HALF black! He’s also HALF WHITE! But that’s almost never mentioned, he’s only considered black!

Black-On-Black verbal crime. Beyonce should be looking at how the Jackson family originated black families to begin in multiple singing and acting success. Without the Jacksons, I don’t think Beyonce’s parents would have made Beyonce, her cousin, Kelly, and her sister, Solange, be singers and partial actresses.
If anything, Beyonce should be commenting on how the Jackson family had NATURAL singing talent, and didn’t have to take up singing classes like herself.

Of course the Jackson’s broke the door down for countless black artists…but their parents, especially their father, was out of control, demanding, and apparently just not a good father – just look at the family today, most of them are crazy! Beyonce was simply saying her music business family is not like that – she made a good point.

No, she was simply saying her “African-American” music business family, my question is why bring race into it?

First of all, how dare that country, non-vocabulary having, winch dare speak against the greatest musical family of ALL TIME!!! She can’t hold a candlestick to Janet, or the entire Jackson 5.Let’s not even mention that hideous, Solange.Beyonce has even copied Janet, just as many others have.(The MTV Awards, Ring the Alarm- wannabe Rhythm Nation performance). She does need to grow up and focus on her “marriage”.Let’s talk about the kind of bad situation Matthew Knowles has gotten her family out of? Beyonce is a wannabe Donna Summer-Tina Turner; that he has profited from since day 1, with that stupid “No, No, No” song, back in the late 90’s. The Jacksons have made note-worthy music throughout their careers. She just put her foot in her mouth and messed with the wrong one.Jan has always been known as the quiet, shy one, but just as she becomes fierce on stage, if u mess with her family she’ll give u the business.Believe me , I know. Taurus women don’t play!!! Since many of her fans always try to play the great singer card for Beyonce. Let’s clear something up, Kelly’s vocals always have and always will blow Beyonce’s aggravating voice out of the water.

God needs to bring Beyonce down a peg or too ! Let her keep running her mouth !! He will !!! At least the Jackson daughters didn’t get pregnant at 16 !!!

BEYONCE NEED TO BOW DOWN AND ACCEPT WHERE SHE CAME FROM.MANY SINGERS BEFORE HER TIME OPENED THEM DOORS LIKE WHITNEY HOUSTON,ANITA BAKER,MARIAH CAREY,MARY J BILGE AND SO AND SO
I JUST THINK BEYONCE BY HER MAKING THAT COMMENT THAT SHE DID NOT RESPECT THE JANET JACKSON AND HER HUMBLE BEGINNINGS,BECAUSE WE ALL AT ONE POINT HAD TO EXPERINCE THOSE HUMBLE BEGINNGINS WHETHER IT WAS BORROWING A COUPLE OF DOLLARS FOR THE DAY,BORROWING A POT OR PAN,HAVING YOUR LIGHTS CUT OFF,WHAT EVER IT MAY BE THOSE TIMES WERE THE TIMES WHERE YOU LEARN PAY YOUR DUES,AND GIVE RESPECT FOR THOSE WHO HAVE OPEN THE WAY FOR YOU.LEARN IT AT THE END OF THE DAY.YOU CAN SAY WHAT EVER YOU WANT TO SAY BUT GIVE RESPECT JUST BECAUSE YOU GOT WHAT YOU GOT NOW IT CAN BE GONE TOMORROW.LEARN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
