Jen beats Brad at box office

Marley & MeWhile there were plenty of movies to choose from on Christmas Day, the battle of the box office was definitely between Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt. For those who are keeping score, Aniston and Owen Wilson’s doggy drama Marley & Me took top spot at the box office, taking in a reported $14.6 million (all figures U.S.) on opening day (the highest ever for a Dec. 25th opening), says US Magazine, while Pitt’s fantasy flick The Curious Case of Benjamin Button grossed $11.8 million. In a recent appearance on Oprah, Aniston wished her ex-husband success at the box office, saying, “We all want our movies to do well…Can we have a tie?” Despite its 2nd place finish, Pitt is still up for Best Performance by an Actor in a Drama for his role in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.

jen’s movie won at the box office because it looks like more of a movie you’d go to see with your kids on christmas day – brad’s movie will have more longevity because it’s actually good
