Jennifer Aniston and Scarlett Johansson are two of the 25 celebrities who will receive stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2012. The honorees were selected from over 200 nominations submitted to the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce Walk of Fame Selection Committee. Anyone, including fans, can nominate a celebrity with a minimum of five years experience in their chosen field, a history of charitable contributions to the community and professional achievements including awards. There is a fee of $25,000 if the person is chosen to receive a star, and the sum is often paid by the celebrity’s studio, record company, agent or fans. Other 2012 nominees in the field of motion pictures are: Kate Winslet, Vin Diesel, John Lasseter, Malcolm McDowell, Sumner Redstone and Richard Burton (posthumous). Television honorees are: Valerie Bertinelli, Matt Groening, Mariska Hargitay, Patricia Heaton, Marg Helgenberger, Walter Koenig and Adam West. Jennifer Lopez will receive a star for her recording career, as will Pepe Aguilar, AMERICA, Boyz II Men, Hal David, David Foster, Vince Gill, Ann and Nancy Wilson (Heart) and Barry White (posthumous).
