Jennifer Garner stalker ruled insane

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Katherine Mader has ruled that Steven Richard Burky, who was accused of harassing Jennifer Garner and her husband Ben Affleck for eight years, is not guilty by reason of insanity. Burky pleaded no content to felony stalking charges and was ordered to be locked up in Patton State Hospital, an institution for judicially-committed adults suffering from mental disorders. He will remain there until doctors declare him mentally fit, but was also issued a restraining order requiring him to stay at least 500 yards away from Garner, Affleck and their two daughters for the next 10 years. Burky was arrested last December when he was seen outside the Santa Monica nursery school where their daughter Violet was enrolled, despite a protection order obtained by Garner and Affleck in 2008 that ruled he had to stay at least 100 yards from anyone in their family. ~Alexandra Heilbron
