Jennifer Lopez accused of getting maid fired

Jennifer Lopez Jennifer Lopez is "hurt" by claims she got a hotel maid fired for asking for her autograph. The 43-year-old singer has been accused by German maid Pray Dodaj of getting her sacked when she knocked on Jennifer's hotel door in Düsseldorf to ask for an autograph and was promptly turned away by two assistants. But the former American Idol judge claims she would not do that. She wrote on Twitter: "C'mon thought you knew me better than this. Would never get anyone fired over an autograph. 1st I heard of this was on twitter. #hurtful (sic)" Pray claims she was relieved from her post the day after the incident when Jennifer was in the country last week. She said: "I cleaned on her floor. And I am an incredibly big fan so I took all my courage and rang the bell to get an autograph. But I was rejected by two assistants at the door. A day later the cleaning company that employed me at the hotel called and said that Ms. Lopez had complained. I was fired right there on the phone. Because of an autograph."

Riiiiiiggghhhht. J-Lo is an infamous beeyotch and would have 100% have complained. However, she was in her hotel room, and to have someone that worked there actually ring your bell to ask for an autograph is ridiculous. Even J-Lo has the right to privacy while in her hotel room. Still hate her though.

Maybe the assistants complained on Jennifer’s behalf. I met her when she was in Toronto shooting a film a few years back and I’m not a fan but she seemed pretty nice.

My guess is she must blabbed to a co-worker about getting Jennifer’s autograph and he or she reported her to her boss.If you work at a hotel Jennifer Lopez stays at would have lots of other famous people staying there. They don’t want this maid acting inappropriate like she would have with other celebrities.

I agree with anonymous2. I used to work in an upscale restaurant and we had the occassions where celebrities would come in to eat. One time, a waiter came back to the kitchen showing off an autograph he just scored in the dining room from an NHL ref (of all things). The owner of the restaurant fired him on the spot as he considered it unprofessional of the waiter to make such requests of patrons. The owner wanted all folks to be able to come in and enjoy a meal without being bothered, esp by the staff.
No one ever did it again… 🙂

I don’t think J-Lo did that. I heard she can be a diva, but also does really nice sincere things as well. I think that the hotel prob thought that this was the right thing to do on j-Lo behalf. Or maybe they claim to pride themselves on their celeb discretions and heard about the autograph and decided that was against their policy. I’m sure there are many ways to look at it. 3 sides to every story.

Asking a celebrity for an autograph while on the job is certainly unprofessional and deserving of reprimand but not summary dismissal. Management of the hotel in question is the only real villain here (assuming they didn’t already have other reasons to fire her and this was just the straw that broke the camel’s back).

Me thinks her “team” let Management know of the Maid’s request and that led Management to make their decision of whether this was an instrusion on their guest…she took a chance and it didn’t work…that folks is life.

Jennifer wouldn’t do that; don’t forget, she made her living cleaning rooms in MAID IN MANHATTAN!

I have no pity for the maid: she should not have bothered J-Lo (or anyone else) when she was in the privacy of her hotel room… very intrusive and downright clueless. In the mean-time, I am not a big fan, but there are quite a few other celebrities who might have reacted even more to the invasion of privacy. Some of them have been known to throw things!!!
