Jennifer Lopez rejected from The Voice

Jennifer Lopez, 44, was rejected by NBC after offering to be both a guest judge and mentor on The Voice, according to a source for New York Daily News‘ Page Six. NBC allegedly responded with, “No thanks,” after the former American Idol judge made a formal offer to be part of the show. “She also submitted herself to have a recurring role,” the source told Page Six. “When you submit yourself to be a performer, the show can see how [the fans] and ratings react to your episode. But, they said no to both.” However, a rep for NBC has denied the allegations of a flat out rejection and claims that the reason for her absence was due to scheduling issues. “It was simply a matter of timing,” said the NBC rep. “The producers love Jennifer Lopez and tried to make it work, but due to the show’s format it just didn’t allow for another solo performance.” ~Alfonso Espina
