Jennifer Lopez’s alleged stalker goes free

Jennifer Lopez may want to move from the block soon.

A request for a permanent restraining order against her alleged “violent” stalker Timothy McLanahan was dismissed by a judge on Tuesday, Jan. 24, after her security team (who were handling the case) did not show up to the hearing. TMZ reports that the reason behind her team’s no-show was that they were unable to contact McLanahan to serve him with the necessary court documents.

J.Lo had been previously granted a temporary restraining order against McLanahan earlier this month that declared he had to remain 100 yards from her and her family. However, that order has since expired.

The actress/singer claims to be in fear for her safety and the safety of her eight-year-old twins, Max and Emme. According to her security staff, McLanahan had been following Jennifer from her residency stay in Las Vegas, back to her home in Los Angeles. He would trespass onto her property, and send her unsolicited gifts.

Making matters worse, a prior statement from J.Lo’s bodyguard revealed that McLanahan is “a transient, who has been arrested for threats and firearms violations.”

According to TMZ, J.Lo is going to escalate the situation to her legal team, and will seek assistance for other protection options. ~Ashleen Grange
