The 65-year-old actress — who played a different character in each of the first four seasons of the FX show — will not be returning for the fifth series of the U.S. TV series titled, American Horror Story: Hotel, but paid tribute to creator Ryan Murphy and her co-stars for making it an ”insane” experience.
Speaking at media convention PaleyFest in New York on March 15, she told the audience: ”Yes, I’m done. We’ve had a great run here. I have absolutely loved doing these four characters that I’ve had the opportunity to play. In all the madness, I’ve loved the writers, my actors, Ryan and the whole, I mean, insanity of it, shooting here, shooting in New Orleans, the stories, everything.”
But it’s not all bad news for American Horror Story fans as Matt Bomer and Cheyenne Jackson will both appear in the fifth series.
The pair will be joined by Lady Gaga and Matt failed to ”confirm or deny” whether his alter-ego will be romantically involved with the Born This Way singer’s character.
It’s not the first time Matt has appeared in the series as he played a prostitute named Andy who was brutally murdered by Finn Witrock’s character Dandy in the fourth season, American Horror Story: Freak Show.
Last month, Gaga confirmed she had signed up for the program by posting a chilling video on her Twitter account in which she was seen wearing a mask, saying, ”American Horror Story season five,” before ripping the headgear off and adding, ”Hotel.”
