They may be the most unlikely couple of 2009, but it’s now official. Jessica Simpson is dating Smashing Pumpkins singer Billy Corgan. The 29-year-old starlet is spellbound over the 42-year-old singer, who just released the first portion of his 44-song Smashing Pumpkins album. However, in other news, E! magazine learned from a close source to Simpson that her friends are a bit jaded by her love affairs, after her short-lived marriage to Nick Lachey and her romance with Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo. Speaking of what Simpson’s friends think of her latest flame, the source revealed, “They think he’s too old for her. No one takes any of her boyfriends seriously anymore because she has had so many. They’re sick of all of them being ‘the one.'” The new lovebirds met during a party in Los Angeles in November. ~Jean Rouleau
