Jessica Simpson dropped by music label

Jessica SimpsonJessica Simpson‘s attempt to embrace her Southern roots by recording a country album has flopped. “Do You Know” barely sold 200,000 copies upon its release, and her latest single, “Pray Out Loud,” has so far failed to reach any spot on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. Simpson has since been dropped by her country music label, Sony Nashville. She could also be dropped by more than just her record label: Simpson’s winter tour with country band Rascal Flatts saw shows with botched up songs, do-overs and audience booing. At the time the album was released, Jessica said her decision to go back to her country roots was natural. “I am a country girl. I grew up in Texas, and country music was what I listened to.” But representatives now say she will return to pop, and insist her deal with Sony Nashville was only temporary. “She was on loan to Sony Nashville for her country album. She is and has always been an Epic artist and continues to be on Epic’s label.” Looks like she should keep it that way. ~Meryl H.

I think this is sad, not because I’m a Simpson fan (Really, REALLY not) but because she’s not any worse than the rest of the sludge out there.

agree, Caller, she’s really harmless and only trying to continue with her career choice…

yes, i feel really bad for her too…she can’t seem to do anything right. her movies are dreadful and her music career is not going at all. i think her newlyweds show really hurt her. i mean people liked while it was on and until, of course, they got a divorce. but the biggest thing that came out of that was the people saw her and now only see her as a personality and not a very good one. i’m afraid she’s become a joke. i think she’s nice tho and yes, harmless too.

I only hope Epic gives her the boot too.I thinks she’s a talentless prima donna that shot to fame on that scourge of society known as reality t.v.
