Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling’s latest book, The Tales of Beedle the Bard, has become the fastest-selling book of the year since its release on December 4th, already selling five times more books than its closest rival. It sold 367,625 copies in three days. In comparison, Guinness World Records 2008 sold only 73,000 in the same amount of time, and Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight series sold 32,000 in six days. Speaking of Stephenie Meyer, Beedle the Bard has knocked from from the top of Amazon’s best-selling books list, although her books are currently ranked numbers 2 through 5. The Tales of Beedle the Bard is comprised of the five fairy tales that were mentioned in the Harry Potter books and has a first printing of 3.5 million copies.
