J.Lo hospital on kidnapping alert

Jennifer LopezThe Long Island hospital where Jennifer Lopez is scheduled to give birth to her twins has been practicing “Code Pink” drills, according to TMZ.com, in order to prevent possible kidnap attempts on the babies. Sources at North Shore Medical Center told the gossip site that a drill was practiced last Friday. A “Code Pink” alert puts the hospital on a lockdown to prevent a kidnapping attempt. These will be the first children for Lopez with her third husband, singer Marc Anthony. She’s expected to give birth at any time now.

Hospitals should always know the drill!! This should not be something special just for ‘stars’. You know, it is really hard for us ‘average’ joes to treat stars like everyone else when the stars themselves think they are better and more important than the rest of us!!!

WOW! Maybe the should upgrade to defcon 3. Put the national guard on high alert. What a freakin’ joke.

    Assifer Hopez needs publicity again!

Shut down the borders. Get the SWAT team to stand at all exits to/from the hospital. Strip search all coming and going. Shoot down any helicopters that might hover above (oops, that one was an air ambulance, sorry – thought it was the paparazzi trying to get a scoop!)

Talk about getting ridiculous. Nancy’s right – should be standard operating procedure for ALL newborns.

She’s still grounded and real…I thought she told ya…..cause she’s still Jenny from the block!!

  7. anonymous • February 15, 2008 @ 7:23 AM

Who does she think she is, maybe Cleopatra?

I can understand why some movie stars get so
upset with the Paparazzi, something should be done with them. But then again you get this instance and they wonder why the Paparazzi get so crazy.(Talking about asking for attention). J.LO, Should be ashamed.

This is where some of the blame should go to, people that have this kind of attitude.

I wasn’t aware a second coming was forecasted. Must have missed that newsflash.
When it comes to celebs she’s ri-goddarned-diculous….I’m surprised she didn’t get extra insurance on her downstairs in case it’s slightly damaged in the childbirth process.

  9. Judy • February 15, 2008 @ 10:10 AM

Leave her alone, she needs to protect her kids from this crazy world.

  10. Nancy • February 15, 2008 @ 10:19 AM

Don’t we all!! The rest of us just don’t stick our damn noses up in the air about it!!!

  11. Cora • February 15, 2008 @ 10:42 AM

Why is everybody upset with Jennifer? The HOSPITAL is doing this, not Jennifer. Anyway, unless I’m really mistaken a “code pink” is the same as a “code blue” except it’s for babies/young children……who are not breathing!!!

  12. Nancy • February 15, 2008 @ 10:50 AM

Well, it says above “in order to prevent possible kidnap attempts on the babies. A ‘CODE PINK’ alert puts the hospital on a lockdown to prevent a kidnapping attempt.” Don’t fool yourself into believing that this was all the hospitals idea! I know I am not that gullible! I just think that all babies and parents should have the same sense of security within hospitals…not special treatment because you are a ‘STAR’. I mean, jeez….you make the big bucks…you want extra security…..hire body guards, BIG TIME STAR!!!!

  13. Nancy • February 15, 2008 @ 12:01 PM

Oh, and if it is really that BIG of a deal…..why not have a home birth. I’m sure they can hire a Dr. to attend, and this way, they wouldn’t have to worry about photos getting leaked to the tabloids!

  14. L.A. • February 15, 2008 @ 12:28 PM

Please, I don’t think it was the hospital’s idea. I’m with you on that one Nancy! Worried about bringing them into a crazy world? Then why not keep quiet about these kinds of things? You’re making sure it’s going to be crazy, having them born right into Centre Ring of the Media circus. I agree, you bring attention to the situation, you’re asking for trouble. Now the WHOLE WORLD knows where they’re having their babies. Couldn’t give a monkey’s tush to be honest. I lost interest in Ms. Lopez a long time ago with that whole Bennifer nonsense. J. Lo should be careful playing with the papparrazi, look how it turned out for Diana…

Probably she had quietly asked the hospital for some extra safeguards, apparently someone at the hospital must have let it slip. So now anyone who would have tried to kidnap the babies knows where she’s having them and that staff are on extra alert. These are security issues that should never have been released to the press.
But all hospitals that treat babies and children should have regular drills to safeguard against this sort of thing. We hear about it happening in Canada every few years, someone poses as a nurse and takes off with a newborn. It’s terrifying, every hospital should be safe for every patient.

While I agree completely that ALL children being born should be protected… and we shouldnt make such a big deal because its a baby of a star….

but the fact that its a baby of a star makes it that much more likely to be kidnapped as well, doesnt it?

Chill out folks. If you dont think your hospital is safe… go to a different one.

  17. Nancy • February 16, 2008 @ 5:56 PM

I am ‘chilled’ dude! When I had my children, they were in my room the whole time, not in the nursery…so anyone in their right mind wouldn’t even go there! As for just ‘going to a different hospital’…..ha ha ha ha ha ha…is that a freaking joke?? I don’t know about the rest of you guys, but I don’t live in Toronto where there are multiple hospitals to choose from!! As for Jenny from the block and all the other stars….if you want extra protection…..HIRE BODY GUARDS LIKE YOU DO FOR YOURSELF!! The way I look at it, every baby is just as important as theirs.

  18. tributegirl • February 16, 2008 @ 7:44 PM

I agree Nancy. She can afford to have bodyguards standing outside her hospital door 24/7. And actually, I think the children of the stars are LESS likely to be kidnapped, because they are high-profile and everyone will know what they look like and will be on the lookout for them. Also the authorities would put much more effort into finding the child of a star. Just imagine being the cop that finds the kidnapped child of a star safe and sound! He/she would be set for life, an international hero! It’s not right, every parent and child should be treated equally, but sadly that’s not the case.

  19. tributeman • February 17, 2008 @ 7:39 AM

Jennifer, isn’t she that bad actress who started in really (well mostly) crap films. I saw her in South Beach Miami and well she is not from the block. Stars do not deserve special attention just because they are like everyone else (opps, I forgot jenni is above everyone else). Enjoy the twins Jennifer cause you do not have an acting career anymore and you now belong to a list a fake moms who believe they can raise their kids better than any of us. I hope the Papi follow you like they do with britnay.

  20. tributegirl • February 17, 2008 @ 9:20 AM

Ouch, tributeman, a little harsh. Why do you hate Jennifer so much? Why would you want the papi to follow her like that? I think she could have an acting career again if she wanted, but I think like most women who are 9 months pregnant, career is the last thing on her mind, her swelling belly and ankles are what she’s thinking of right now. Her movies weren’t all that great, I agree with you there, and I also agree that she doesn’t deserve special attention either, but I wouldn’t wish any harm on her, like having the papparazzi following her.

  25. Nancy • February 19, 2008 @ 10:50 AM

    Don’t worry ppl! It’s Jenny!!

  26. Nancy • February 19, 2008 @ 6:48 PM

Oh yes it is. That’s Jenny from the block alright! She just used to have a little and now she has a lot…….of extra baby weight!!

  27. tributegirl • February 20, 2008 @ 8:55 AM

Are you blind? That’s JLo, very VERY pregnant. Pregnancy does kinda change peoples appearance, you know. It’s given her a big belly, and a shiny forehead.
