Johnny Depp will team up with his Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides director Rob Marshall for The Thin Man — a remake of the 1934 comedy-crime movie of the same name. The movie follows Charles, a former detective who, along with his wealthy wife Nora, winds up investigating a murder case. Marshall expressed his enthusiasm about working with Depp again in a press release, saying: “[Producer] John [Deluca] and I are overjoyed at the idea of working with Johnny again, especially on such a classy and classic project. We are also thrilled to be partnering this time with such wonderful producers as Christi Dembroski and Kevin McCormick, and we are looking forward to working with Warner Bros. to create a reinvention of a beloved story.” The Thin Man is set for a 2013 release. Depp has also completed a cameo in the upcoming 21 Jump Street movie, based on the 1980s TV series that made him famous, and is preparing to play Tonto in The Lone Ranger.
