Johnny Depp has been named the Top Money-Making Star of 2010 by motion picture exhibitors. He starred in Alice in Wonderland, which earned over $1 billion at the worldwide box office and The Tourist, which grossed over $77 million worldwide. This is Depp’s third time at the top of the year-end list, which has been in existence since 1932. He also topped the list in 2006 and 2007. His Tourist co-star Angelina Jolie comes in at #2 on the list. She was also in Salt, which grossed $293 million worldwide. Robert Downey, Jr., who appeared in Iron Man 2 and Due Date, was third, while Matt Damon followed behind in fourth place with Green Zone, Hereafter, and True Grit. Rounding out the top five was Steve Carell, who starred in Date Night and Dinner for Schmucks, as well as providing the voice of Gru in the animated hit Despicable Me. In past years, Mickey Rooney and Robert Redford have also topped the list three times each in total. Tom Cruise has topped the list more times than any other actor — a record seven times.
