Jonas Brothers serenade terminally ill girl

Jonas Brothers give terminally ill girl a hugTerminally-ill nine-year-old Jayla Cooper got the surprise of her life when the Jonas Brothers showed up at her house last weekend. As reported on The Early Show, Cooper, who has leukemia, wanted one last wish. With only weeks to live, her wish was to marry her seven-year-old friend, Jose Griggs, who also has leukemia (he’s expected to recover), and to dance to the Jonas Brothers’ Love Bug. She got her wish, but The Early Show went one better — they contacted the Jonas Brothers and had them, in the middle of a promotional tour for their movie, Jonas Brothers: The 3D Concert Experience, surprise Jayla at her home. The brothers sat next to her on the sofa and sang Love Bug a cappella for the little girl, who beamed when they entered her home. After the song, they stayed and chatted with Jayla and her parents for awhile, with each brother giving her a hug before they had to be on their way.

That was so nice of them. My kids love the JB’s too. I’m glad Jayla got her last wish…above and beyond what she expected. I don’t know if they were involved or not but if I were rich, the ‘Make-A-Wish Foundation’ would be the first charity whom I would donate large sums of money to.

This actually brought a tear to my eye. As someone who has lost someone dear to me from Cancer, It warms my heart that these well rounded guys would make the time to do this very special thing.

The Jonas Brothers, through this unselfish act to comfort a young dying fan, just proved that there IS hope for the entertainment industry after all.
After bemoaning the fact that, as older real stars (like Paul Newman, John Lennon, Shirley Temple, Audrey Hepburn) pass away without a new generation to replace them, it’s nice to know that at least some of today’s young stars ARE throwbacks to those stars of yesterday (ie: “win one for the gipper!”)

There can still be a connection to the “common people” without having to go through the papparazzi, flashing your privates, being arrested for DUI, etcetera!
