Mel Gibson, 52, has completed the probation requirements stemming from his DUI arrest in July 2006. Gibson pleaded no contest and was spared jail time, instead being sentenced to three years probation and ordered to attend Alcoholics Anonymous meetings. Superior Court Judge Lawrence Mira told him Wednesday that he would no longer need to report to the court, even though he technically has 18 months left of probation, saying: “You’re well on your way to success. You’re on your own now, so this is the most difficult time for you. Good luck to you as you continue on your rehabilitation.” Gibson thanked the judge before leaving.
