Justin Lin to direct new Star Trek film

Justin LinHe may be best known for directing Fast & Furious films but Justin Lin has just signed on to direct the third movie in the Star Trek franchise. The first two installments were directed by J.J. Abrams, but he had to decline helming the third because he’s signed on for the new Stars Wars film, Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Justin directed four of the Fast & Furious films and was set to direct a new Bourne movie starring Jeremy Renner, who was the lead in The Bourne Legacy, but that’s been put on hold now that Matt Damon and Paul Greengrass are set to film another Bourne sequel starring Damon as Jason Bourne. This will be Matt’s fourth Bourne installment and Paul’s third. The new Star Trek movie does not yet have a title or a release date.

Clearly, this promises to be one of the most thought-provoking STAR TREK’s in some time!
