Justin Timberlake DUI charges dropped as he cuts plea deal

By Alexandra Heilbron on September 11, 2024 | 10 Comments

Justin Timberlake in ReptileJustin Timberlake was arrested on drunk driving charges last June after he ran a stop sign in his 2025 BMW and was seen weaving back and forth on a road in Southhampton on Long Island.

However, he has just signed a plea deal that cancels out the drunk driving charge — he has agreed to plead guilty to a minor traffic violation that doesn’t include criminal charges.

The penalty will be a fine with the exact amount to be set during a hearing on Friday, but according to TMZ.com, Justin will likely pay a fine of between $300 to $500. The initial Driving While Intoxicated misdemeanor charge, which has been dropped, carried a maximum of one year behind bars and a $2500 fine.

Justin refused a breathalyzer test when stopped by police, so under the laws of New York State, his license was suspended automatically in New York for a year. At the time of his arrest, he was on a break from his “Forget Tomorrow World Tour,” but continued on shortly afterwards without missing a scheduled date. His next concert is September 28 in Newark, New Jersey at the Prudential Center. He will perform in North America through December 2024, then the tour picks back up again in Mexico in February 2025 before heading to South America and winding up in Norway and Denmark in June 2025. ~Alexandra Heilbron

Must be nice to be rich and famous. Even if untalented and ugly.

Cant argue with you on that Heather.

Yes perks of being rich and famous and having others depending on you being available for the future year. Maybe too lenient?

Couldn’t they give him stage or tourbus arrest ? Something significant for the crime.?

How is refusing a breathalyzer considered legally ok? I understand that once home it cannot be included…but refused?

    Shame on you!

Sober partying is still possible. Difficult but not impossible.

What can you do! I would not say he is untalented though , he did a good impression of BooBoo in the Yogi Bear movie.

And he was just an average Joe he probably get jail time or super exorbitant fine because he’s rich and has great lawyers and he’s famous of course he’s slap on the wrist find it find It’s like cheaper than his grocery bill for the month probably

Absolutely pathetic. He chooses to drive drunk knowing very well he could potentially kill someone… But because he’s rich he ends up with a slap in the wrist. What’s to stop him from doing it again?

To all you haters, I beat a DUI and drug possession charge representing myself with no legal training. It’s not hard, you have rights that are usually being violated. No one ever tries to go to court though, they just take the plea deal presented to them because it’s sold as their best option. Bad move

I think he should pay and serve any time for being stupid. Can’t fix stupid which he is

Less about being rich and more about being famous. Rules do not apply. This is why the soviets should never be in power.

It’s one thing for him to have the charges reduced for who he is but why the fine?!?!? He can well afford the fine and truthfully it should be $10,000 for his gross negligence!!

justin, stand in the corner for 20 minutes and don’t do it again. Two level justice system. Figures. The law is a mess. Never liked that prick anyway.
