Justin Timberlake fired for neglecting charity

By Tribute on October 4, 2012 | 10 Comments

In 2007, Justin Timberlake joined forces with Shriners Hospitals for Children and hosted their annual golf tournament, which raises money for the not-for-profit network that provides treatment for kids with cleft lip and palates, burns, and spinal cord injuries. Although The Social Network celeb has done good work for Shriners since then — raising several million dollars through tournament-related concerts over the past four years — PGA Tour officials announced Monday they were cutting ties with the pop star. Tournament chair Raoul Frevel told the Las Vegas Review Journal, “Justin’s a wonderful person, but we tried everything we could to get him more involved with our kids and hospitals but it seemed that when the TV cameras weren’t on, he disappeared.” However, tournament director Adam Sperling added: “The future of pro golf here in Las Vegas wasn’t very secure when Justin and the Shriners came in five years ago. Justin added a level of cache and star power in a city that understands the value of that.” ~Brandon Bastaldo

Yeah, no surprises there, can you say Publicity stunt?

Can’t stand him and I’m not surprised to hear he was just helping them out for the publicity.

Maybe he’s just too busy with his career stuff? Maybe he never consciously thought okay NOW I’m gonna stop helping charity. They’re probably just painting a negative picture of him because they’re pissed about nothing having that celeb “cache” anymore

Come on he has alot of money and alot of free time. Helping children should be an honor for a guy that has alot of free time.

How the hell do you know the guy has alot free time? Ignorant statment.

He sure as s*** doesn’t work 9 to 5 and overtime on the weekends. Yes, if he’s filming a project he might be busy, but did you know that celebs like him get paid to show up to certain parties? He could skip one of them easily and do a free concert at the hospital, or go and distribute Teddy bears. No one forced him to do be involved with a charity. Doing thing halfheartedly doesn’t set a good example.

Every celebrity should just donate 1 million to charities around the world.
Show the world that they care.

Trust me not everyone wants to do charity and it’s definitely a push from his agents since almost every celeb supports one or two. I’m surprised he’s doing as good as he is since it probably wasn’t his decision in the first place. Justin find something your passionate about a good real cause not some cause that’s made up or run by YOU KNOW WHO and stick with it. It will look better on you and you’ll be more happy. :):) good luck 🙂

give the guy a break. He is all over the world filming stuff and making music and concerts. Sure he’s lending his name to a charity, but he’s not going to quit his life to just be a Shriner. Those are retired old farts lol.

He’s a poser. He’s not doing shows, albums, and his atrocious acting is probably done in 1 or 2 takes. He has the time and money to help the world. He chooses not to. Johnny Depp is much busier but never ignores charity. It’s time we ran this N*Syncer out of entertainment land. Move over little girls, cougars, and sexually confused teenage boys, it’s time for Justin to fall. Hard.
